EDWARD KŁOSIŃSKI
Cinematographer

Klosinski graduated from Thater and Film School on Lodz in 1969. He is one of the most accomplished Polish film cinematographers. He has worked with Andrzeja Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi, Krzysztof Kieślowski and Jerzy Antczak. His debut was in a full feature film "Runaway" in 1971 by Janusz Zorski. He worked with Andrzej Wajda in "Brzezin" in 1971 as cinematorgapher. Later he was a cinematographer on five other movies including "The Maiden and the Wolves"(1979) and "Chronicle of Love Affairs" (1985) which was marked by stunning visuals. Klosinski was also a cinematorgapher and co-director with Krzysztof Zanussi on the television series "With Many Years, With Many Days" (1980). He received numerous prizes for "Spiral" (1978) and and "Life With Deadly Sexualy Transmited Disease"(2000). In 1995, he was the cinematographer on "The Seed" directed by his wife, Kristine Janda.

In 1976, at the Polish Film Festival in Gdansk, he won the award for "Protective Colors". In 1978 he received the First Individual Award by Comitee for Radio and Television for the series "Polish Roads". In 1979 Klosinski received the degree of the first class operator and won the Minister's Award for his achievements in the field of camera work as well as the prize for "Spiral" at the Film Festival in Panama. In 1991, together with Henning Bendsen and Jean Paul Meurisse, he won the award for his work on "Europe" by Lars von Triera. In 1996 Klosinski also won the award at the Madrid Film Festival for "La Muerto do Filomeno". In 2000 he won Bavarian Film Award for his work on "Gloomy Sunday-Ein Lied von Liebe und Todd".
